Results from Friday
The event began with a special announcement that beginning in August (with an exact date to be announced this week) NRW will no longer be holding weekly Friday night events. The weekly events will be moved to Sunday nights starting in August. The exact date is not yet known, however it is known that they will be starting earlier in the evening then the current 7:30 start time.
The Rec center was packed with perhaps the loudest crowd the company has had to date and the results are as follows:
Match 1: Cameron Star defeated Quiz.
Match 2: Cedric The Hitman earned an extremely hard fought victory over Draven Vargas.
In Match 3 The GRAPPLER made his first in ring appearance in NRW and defeated Hearthrob Erik Hanson.
Match 4 saw Exile win a tough battle with Pete Storm. As stated prior to the match had Storm been victorious he would have been in line for a shot at J-Sin Sullivan's Pacific Coast Title, so after the match, in a post match interview Exile asked manager Derek Drexl if this meant that he would be receiving a title shot. Drexl ignored the question 2 or 3 times and Exile walked away leaving his manager stunned and almost speechless.
Match 5: Tod Ruhl dominated Krash 503 and won the match with a full nelson. After the match Ruhl would not release the hold and Draven Vargas came to the ring to break it, for his troubles Vargas was the victim of a Tod Ruhl spear.
The final match of the evening saw Richie Magnet and J-sin Sullivan battle in a best 2 out of 3 falls match. Following a very impressive Belly-to-belly Magnet won the first fall, Sullivan was able to win the second fall after an elbow off the middle rope. The third and deciding fall saw Magnet catch Sullivan with another belly-to-belly, however referee Thrash Kincaid could not count the pinfall because Drexl was on the apron. Magnet pulled Drexl in and gave him a belly-to belly suplex. As Kincaid worked at getting Drexl out of the ring Sullivan used his manager's steel cane to knock out the challenger to win the match and retain the title.
Afterwards Sullivan continued laying the boots to Magnet and was
joined by Exile. However instead of Exile assisting in the beat down
he turned his attention to Sullivan. Not sure what was said between
the two but they obviously had some strong words as they stared one
another down. The face off concluded with Richie Magnet continuing
his fight with Sullivan eventually clearing the ring of him, Exile,
and Sullivan left the ring separately.
Matches will be announced throughout the week. Make sure to visit the:
